Carlos C. Johnson III is the President & CEO of Digital Platinum A&R. He is married with two lovely daughters. Born in Youngstown Ohio and raised in the projects, Carlos kept his mind occupied the only way he knew how....with music. Developing a talent for music at an early age, Carlos was proficient at playing three musical instruments by the 8th grade. By age 19 he started putting together complex musical compositions. By his 23rd birthday, he was proficient at playing 7 instruments all equally well.

By this time he was writing, producing, and performing his own music. Gifted with extraordinary
musical talent, this visionary went on to become the founder of a digital music start-up to solve the
problem he himself encountered as a struggling musician. How does one go about getting their
music heard and actually speaking with the decision-makers in the music industry? Well, problem
solved. Digital Platinum A&R was conceived as an idea in 2009 while watching an episode of
American Idol. As Carlos witnessed contestants sleeping on the ground just to get their music heard, he got a divine revelation and Digital Platinum was born. He credits his wife for adding the A&R to the name, forming the company we now know as Digital Platinum A&R.

A Message From The CEO

Let's get right to the point! The music industry is changing. It is now a game of "survival of the fittest." In the past, an independent artist had the luxury of submitting music, having someone listen to it, like it, and get signed. Well, let me clue you in...welcome to the 21st century. The industry has changed, and so is the way music is being submitted, and being heard by music execs and A&R. Love 'em or hate 'em, these people are the gatekeepers of the industry...impress them and they could be your ticket to a new career and a better life. The life you have been dreaming of probably all of your life.

In order to get in the door, you need contacts, plain and simple. You need someone with access to these individuals. The artist who gets in front of these execs stand a much better chance of being discovered. Digital Platinum A&R and all of our strategic business partners are commited to giving you the opportunity to get in front of these individuals. The days of sending in a cassette tape and getting a call from a label to get signed are long gone. Music has gone digital, and so has A&R. Pastor C. J. Johns, Sr. began his business career at the early age of 16, by becoming the lead supervisor of a fast food restaurant. At the age of 18, he was admitted to Wendy's Management school where he went on to graduate in the top 1% of his class.

In 1984, he relocated to California and was immediately hired as an assistant manager with Del Taco. Within 6 months, Mr. Johns was promoted to manager, and shortly thereafter, inter-regional. After success in the restaurant business, Mr. Johns began his entrepreneurial career in real estate in late 1985. Over a 20 year period, he successfully acquired and sold via Limited Partnerships, over 25 million dollars in real estate assets.

In 1987, Mr. Johns was offered the position VP of Procurement for Barbarossa Oil Company where he remained for 2 1/2 years.

In 1997, Mr. Johns founded an Unlawful Detainer Company. Soon thereafter, the company merged with a Law Firm, thereby making Mr. Johns a financial partner within the real estate division. His division represented over 50 million dollars in client real estate transactions during that period. That is a position he held until his subsequent move to Florida in 2005. In 2006, Mr. Johns and his wife founded Covington Mortgage, a Correspondent Lending Bank. Pastor received his degree in English from Pierce College.
